Cancellation Policy
I start planning your meals well in advance — choosing ingredients, designing your menu, and making sure everything is perfect. To give me enough time, I ask that you let me know about any cancellations or changes before I start shopping.
For Monday-Wednesday service, please reach out by the Friday before. For Thursday-Friday service, Sunday is ideal. If life throws you a curveball after that, I'll do my best to work with you — but a cancellation fee may apply to cover ingredients I've already picked up.
Cancellations after the cutoff are charged at 50% of the service fee to cover ingredients already purchased. No-shows are charged the full amount. This isn't about being strict — it's about being fair to both of us, since this is a personal chef service, not a delivery app.

Allergen Disclaimer
Your safety is my top priority. I take every precaution to accommodate your dietary needs, and I take allergies extremely seriously.
However, meals are prepared in a kitchen that handles common allergens including nuts, dairy, gluten, shellfish, eggs, and soy. If you have a life-threatening allergy, please make sure it's marked as 'medical' in your dietary profile so I can take extra precautions.
By using this service, you acknowledge that while I do my absolute best, I cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment. Once I move into a dedicated commissary kitchen, this disclaimer will be updated accordingly.

Payment Terms
I keep payment simple. Weekly meal prep clients are invoiced after each cook day — just e-Transfer me within a couple of days.
For catering and events, I ask for a 50% deposit when you book to secure your date, with the rest due on the day of the event.
Accepted methods today: Interac e-Transfer (primary) and cash. Stripe-based automated billing is on the roadmap.

Containers
Your meals go into reusable to-go containers rather than single-use plastic — better for the planet, and they hold up properly in the fridge and the freezer.

Privacy Policy
Your personal information — your contact details, your dietary needs, and how you like to eat — is kept strictly confidential. I collect it only to cook for you safely and to run the booking side of the business. I never sell it, I never trade it, and I never share it except where the law requires.
Because I cook in your kitchen, I also hold the service address for your bookings — the place I am coming to. I use it to get there, to know how far a job is, and to print it on your confirmation so we are not guessing on the day. It is not published anywhere, it is not used for marketing, and each booking carries its own address, so a one-off somewhere else does not overwrite your usual one.
Dani, the owner of Dani's Food Solutions, is the Privacy Officer for the business and is accountable for the information described here. For anything to do with your privacy — a question, a copy of your data, a correction, or a withdrawal of consent — write to privacy@danisfoodsolutions.ca.
Here is everything I collect and why. When you send a booking request I collect your name, email, phone number if you give one, and whatever you write in the message, so that I can reply and plan the work. When you create an account I collect your email address, which is what signs you in — there is no password to steal. Your dietary profile holds your allergies, restrictions and preferences, including whether a restriction is a medical need rather than a preference, because that changes how I handle your food. Bookings hold the dates and the address where I am cooking. Payment records hold what was charged and when it was paid.
I ask for medical dietary information on purpose and I treat it as the most sensitive thing on the system. It exists so that I do not hurt you. It is never used for marketing and never shared with anyone.
Sending a booking request is your consent for me to use that information to answer you. Creating an account and filling in a dietary profile is your consent for me to use it to cook for you. You can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to privacy@danisfoodsolutions.ca, and within 30 days I will delete your account and dietary profile and strip your name and contact details from past booking requests. Some records I have to keep — see below.
How long I keep things. Your account and dietary profile stay while your account is open, and are deleted within 90 days of you asking me to close it. Booking requests that never became bookings are cleared out once they are no longer useful, and at most 24 months after we last spoke. Payment and invoice records are kept for six years, because the Canada Revenue Agency requires that of financial records — this is the one category I cannot delete on request.
When you submit the booking form, an anti-abuse check records the IP address the request came from. It is used only to stop the form being flooded, it is never linked to your identity or used to profile you, and it is deleted automatically once it is more than 7 days old.
Where your information lives. The database and sign-in system are hosted on Supabase in the ca-central-1 region, which is in Montreal — your information is stored in Canada. Some services that carry your information to and from that database are US companies, and their networks route through the United States: Vercel hosts the website, Cloudflare provides the anti-spam check on the booking form and forwards email sent to our addresses, and Resend delivers the emails I send you. If card payments are switched on in future, Stripe will process them; today the only ways to pay are Interac e-Transfer and cash, and no card details are collected or stored.
Your rights. You can ask me for a copy of everything I hold about you, and I will send it within 30 days. You can ask me to correct anything that is wrong — I will acknowledge within five business days and fix it within 30. You can ask me to delete your information, subject to the six-year financial-records rule above. Write to privacy@danisfoodsolutions.ca and say what you want.
If there is ever a breach. If your information is lost or exposed in a way that creates a real risk of significant harm to you, I will tell you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as soon as I reasonably can, and I will tell you what happened, what was involved, and what I did about it. I keep a record of every security incident, not only the serious ones, for 24 months.
I do not send marketing email today. Booking confirmations are transactional messages and are exempt under Canada's anti-spam legislation. If I ever start sending a newsletter or promotional email it will be opt-in, and every one of them will carry an unsubscribe link.
This policy is written to meet both the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (BC PIPA), which apply to this business as a BC business engaged in commercial activity. It was last updated in August 2026. If you think I have got any of this wrong, tell me — privacy@danisfoodsolutions.ca — and I would rather fix it than argue about it.

Food Safety Statement
I'm a classically trained chef (PICA, Granville Island) with professional food safety training, and every meal is prepared with the same standards I'd use in a professional restaurant kitchen.
Please refrigerate your meals within 2 hours of them coming off the heat. Fresh meals are best enjoyed within 4 days, or you can freeze them for up to 3 months.
I leave reheating instructions with your meals. If anything ever looks, smells, or tastes off — please tell me immediately so I can make it right.

Service Agreement
When you work with me, you're getting a personal chef experience — not a meal kit or delivery service. I tailor everything to you. If something isn't right, tell me. I'd rather fix it than lose you.
Services are personalized and non-transferable. Menu changes can be requested but are subject to ingredient availability and lead time. I reserve the right to decline service if I genuinely cannot guarantee safety (for example, an extreme allergy in unsafe kitchen conditions).
Either of us can end our ongoing arrangement with one week's notice. If we ever disagree about something, my preference is always good-faith conversation first. BC small claims is a last resort that I hope we never need.
My goal is for you to love every single meal.

Catering & Event Terms
For events, a 50% deposit locks in your date. This portion is non-refundable if you cancel within 2 weeks of the event, since by then ingredients and prep are already in motion.
I'll need your final guest count 5 days before the event, and any menu changes at least 7 days before. Setup and cleanup are always included in the quoted price — you just enjoy your party.
Clients are responsible for the venue, tables and chairs, and serving area. If we use rented dishes or glassware, the client is liable for any breakage charged by the rental company.

Loyalty & Subscription Terms
Stick with me for 4 weeks straight and you'll get 10% off going forward — my way of saying thanks for trusting me with your meals.
If you need to pause for more than 2 weeks, no worries — we'll just restart the count when you're back. The discount applies automatically once you hit the threshold.
Pay monthly in advance for an extra 5% off on top of any loyalty discount you've already earned.
